3. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
A cookie is a piece of information, a small text file, that is downloaded and stored on the user’s device (computer, tablet or smartphone) when a user visits a particular website (the “Cookie”). The Cookie stores information that can later be read back by the sites or third parties. Cookies are used to recognize your browser and you as a unique user.
In addition, Cookies can perform a number of functions: make more efficient the navigation through the pages of a site, store user preferences, and generally improve the user’s browsing experience. In some cases, Cookies may allow you to see promotions that may be of interest to you. Some of these Cookies are necessary for the proper operation of the Site/Xceed App, others are useful because they can securely store information such as user name or language settings. The advantage of having Cookies installed in your device is that you no longer need to fill out the same information each time you access a previously visited site.
We use both session cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your device for a set period of time or until you delete them). We use the following types of cookies for the purposes explained here below:
a) Technical Cookies
Technical Cookies are essential for browsing the Site/Xceed App and make full use of its features, including providing access to the various protected areas of the Site/Xceed App. Without these Cookies certain required Services may not be accessible. You do not need to provide consent for Technical Cookies, since they are required for the function of the Services as you have requested.
b) Analytics Cookies
These Cookies are used to obtain information regarding Site/Xceed App usage, for advertising and e-mails, and are used to advise us of any Site/Xceed App errors. Furthermore, these cookies allow us to obtain detailed technical information such as the last page visited, the number of pages visited, whether an e-mail was opened, upon which parts of the Site/Xceed App or e-mail the User clicked, and the elapsed time between clicks. This information may be associated with User details such as their IP address, domain or browser, but are nonetheless analyzed in a way that does not trace the identity of the particular user. We use this information to maintain, operate, and continually improve the Services.
c) Functional Cookies
These Cookies that allow the Site/Xceed App to remember your choices (for example the User name) to provide it with a more customized and optimized navigation. The Functional Cookies are not essential to the operation of the Site/Xceed App, but they improve the quality and experience of the navigation. If you don’t accept these Cookies, Site/Xceed App features may be reduced and the access to the contents of the Site/Xceed App may be limited.
d) Profiling Cookies
Profiling Cookies are used to create a User profile which is used to provide contextualized and personalized advertising content that is in line with the User’s preferences during internet navigation. In any case, Xceed builds Profiling Cookies without being able to identify any specific User. Profiling Cookies are stored on the User’s device only with User’s consent.
e) Targeting Cookies
Targeting Advertising are from third party advertisers. These Cookies can be stored on the User’s device, and are used by ad networks, data exchange services, marketing analysis and other service providers. Targeting Cookies collect information on the User’s browsing habits from various websites and online services in order to display relevant ads on websites and third party on-line services. Ad networks can share this information with advertisers through their network. The information gathered using these Cookies is used for contextualized and personalized advertising managed by third parties, and does not personally identify the User. Targeting Cookies are stored on the User’s device only with the consent of the same.
