Info

One of the Techno circuits key Brazilian proponents will shortly be releasing his highly-anticipated third album “Straight Lines and Sharp Corners” (09/03/20) via Techno’s most illustrious label, Drumcode. Much more than an album, it’s an entire project proposing an immersive conceptual study that reflects Wehbba’s life as ‘the artist’, following a decade-long career in the industry. We will be hosting an intimate album launch party at Bridge 48, Barcelona on 11 March 2020. During this unique event we will be unveiling Wehbba’s short film “Form In Transition” which was created in conjunction with the LP and narrates a deeply perceptive poem written by the artist himself. In addition, Wehbba will be premiering his new live performance setup, Wehbba Live Station with a 45-minute set that showcases “Straight Lines and Sharp Corners” in a free-flowing format. Highlighting a cycle of perception and projection, the Barcelona-based DJ and producer studies the morphing of genres through his eclectic sonic palette, referencing the great Antoni Gaudi for the album’s title. "There are no straight lines or sharp corners in nature, therefore buildings must have no straight lines or sharp corners. Anything created by human beings is already in the great book of nature." – Antoni Gaudi "The musical references on these works trace back to the 90s, when I started listening to electronic music and had no judgement of what was cool - when I was totally free. So they represent, without any filter, what touched me, ranging from braindance to goa trance, from ambient to hard house, and from drum n’ bass through every single mutation of techno and house music." - Wehbba
