Freddy K, real name Alessio Armeni, is a renowned Italian techno DJ known for his deep dedication to the underground scene and marathon DJ sets. Born in Rome, Freddy K started his career in the early 1990s during the rise of Italy's rave movement. He first made waves as a producer and label head with the influential ACV Records, releasing raw, driving techno and hardcore. However, it was his passion for DJing that truly defined his path. In the late 2000s, Freddy K relocated to Berlin, where he became a pivotal figure in the city’s club culture. Known for his all-night, genre-spanning sets, he gained a loyal following at Berghain, where he regularly delivers extended performances that blend fast, hypnotic techno with surprising emotional depth. Freddy K also founded the label Key Vinyl, a platform for artists pushing functional yet soulful techno. His approach is rooted in spontaneity and physicality—he famously doesn’t use pre-prepared playlists, instead reading the room in real-time. More than just a DJ, Freddy K embodies the ethos of underground techno: no ego, no compromise, just music and movement.
