Bio

Bookings: oscar@cumacbookings.com Be it as musician, producer or DJ, Pablo Say’s (1985, Valencia, Spain) life has spinned around music since a very early age. In his native hometown, Masamagrell, with only five years old, Pablo saw himself attracted by the traditional sounds of his town’s orchestra, nurturing his love for this art. Then, he started taking solfege classes, managing to dominate complex instruments as the trumpet, which eventually led him to start studies at the music conservatory. Being a teenager influenced by the electronic sounds that he started hearing in his first night adventures to Valencia, in local dance institutions as Rockola or Barraca, Say left the trumpet aside to eventually dominate a less conventional instrument: turntables. At first embracing harder styles, when he turned 18 house knocked his door and Pablo acquired his first Technics decks. In that moment, more mature genres started to form his repertoire, being influenced by artists as Trentemøller, Joseph Capriati or Davide Squillace, although never being tied by only one style. For Pablo, each record is a feeling that he can transmit to the dancefloor. Influences kept coming; most of all thanks to his first trips to Ibiza, where he attended to dance music temples such as Amnesia, DC10 or Space Ibiza, where the music of the heavyweights as Carl Cox, Sven Väth or Richie Hawtin, among others, started to cast his musical character. Few could imagine that, a few years later, it would be Pablo’s music the one filling big players’ selections. Short after, Pablo would start producing thanks to a friend’s advice, who introduced him to Cubase, which he dominated all by himself. After that, he wanted to expand his control over DAWs and software, taking professional courses of Ableton. During the last five years he has dedicated more than eight hours a day to studio production, having made more than 200 songs during this time. Pablo’s effort and determination finally paid off, when he managed to release his productions in record labels as elrow Music (‘Digital Mind’), Deeperfect (‘Marim’), Mark Knight’s Toolroom (‘Party Time’) or Markantonio’s Analitic Trail (‘Harmonic Chimes’). Although, if there is a label Say feels especially proud of being part that is Truesoul (‘Thug Life’, ‘Red Chamber’), the platform created by techno legend Adam Beyer. Being enthralled by Beyer’s figure after hearing his sessions in Space Ibiza, Pablo Say has found a teacher and mentor in him, a strong inspiration with a strong personality. Pablo Say’s music reflects his mind set as an artist: a wide style, with no boundaries, that currently spins around underground sounds, close to techno. As DJ, Pablo has left his mark in clubs as Barcelona’s elrow, Privilege and Sankeys in Ibiza, London’s Lightbox, Mono Bar in Moscow, beside important performances in Hungary, Bulgary and, most recently, in electronic music strongholds as Chicago, demonstrating that he’s also a master behind the decks. Thanks to his productions or to his performances around the world, Pablo Say is one of the strongest breakthrough talents of recent years. Better watch him closely!
