Ash Lauryn lives and breathes black dance music. Blending her skills as both a DJ and composer, writer, curator and radio host, she is the ultimate afterglow of the old-school house foundation and the digital age spark.
From her native Detroit to the current base in Atlanta, her passion for music and inspiration from peers has led her to pursue her artist journey, reaching major venues worldwide, such as Nowadays (New York), Panorama Bar (Berlin) or Printworks (London). As well as international festivals: Afropunk, Dimensions and Flow to name a few. Ash has played alongside legends like Joe Claussell, Moodymann, Ron Trent and more.
Her latest EP ‘Truth’ (from 2021) came out as a straight-up dancefloor success, including contributions from Kai Alcé and Stephan Ringer on top of Ash’s vocals and lyrics.
This saturday, July 15, the Atlanta star returns to Lisbon for a night filled with everything deep, soulful, raw and groovy. She’ll be joined by the best local support she could get: Chima Isaaro and Hélder Russo.
Chima is well-known for effortlessly blending melodic sonic journeys that weave through the time spaces of techno, house, disco, jazz and more. She consistently offers up Black-rooted candescence for the people.
Hélder Russo is a producer and DJ well-known for his love of soul, hip-hop, funk and Detroit house and techno. His work as a producer comes as a result of all the above: an interesting blend of genres and styles, with black music as a common ground.
