Best Mixes of 2017

We like to go dancing. It is certainly not a secret. Turning like tops among the various festivals and events that have, as usual, attracted us as magnets. And when there is not the opportunity to dance “in the field”, then it begins the hunting to the podcasts and sets to find out those precious gems that make us dancing in the office or while we are taking a shower.

Thanks to the way that DJ culture has spread online, now you can listen to those mixes and sets where amazing tunes are blent together, overcoming the limits dictated by the single tracks.
Sónar, Dekmantel, Rinse FM, Boiler Room and many more, those are our favorite means that really make us happy.
Here they are our favorite mixes that we’ve listened during this year and that we want to listen also now, during the final rush of this 2017.
Enjoy.

Boiler Room x AVA Festival

Denis Sulta

What a year it’s been for the Glaswegian! From being a resident in Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh, throwing his own Sulta Sheikh Down parties and selling ten advance tickets to holding headline slots in Europe’s biggest clubs and festivals. Catchy house belters with the occasional vocal samples, together with heart-touching synth melodies are his cards and he surely knows how to play them well. See what he’s capable of on this Boiler Room in Belfast.

Boiler Room x Dekmantel

Jayda G

We don’t really get how some people can complain about the mixing aspect of this DJ set, arguing that is lacking of real creative technical skills typical of the modern form of DJing. Sometimes, you read really funny stories on the web…
Nonetheless, we think that this set is wonderful. The energy and passion that Jayda G brings, together with an amazing selection of tunes, is what makes this set one of the best from this past year.

There are no doubts that this artist is an exceptional techno producer and a skilled DJ and this set is 100% proof of it.  Three and a half hours of classy, pounding techno, driving the festival crowd into the early hours of the morning. A star on the rise that we recommend to keep an eye on!

Boiler Room Berlin

Marcus Worgull

A hugely respected electronica producer, Marcus Worgull is part of the Berlin based Innervisions collective. This artist is well-known for his perfectionism that’s led him to release only six singles in 13 years.
This attitude is also reflected during his DJ sets, superlative in track selection and extremely solid in the mixing.
This live at the Boiler Room of Berlin is a clear example of what this artist is able to do, and it’s one of our favorites from this 2017.

The Ukrainian duo Woo York are behind the fifth Afterlife Voyage series, delivering a special and rare live recording that captures the essential of their typical performances.
This mix is a real trip that, in our humble opinion, stands out from the rest.

There’s a bright future ahead of DJ Boring, who’s definitely not so boring.

Diving Deep

Oscar Mulero

An artist that needs no introduction, the Spanish techno minister has proved himself through the years, and recently his persona has seen a bit more of exposure, mainly due to the explosion of the techno scene. Oscar Mulero’s trademark dark textures and visceral sounds make him a unique artist of our era, and techno would be impossible to understand without him. Very few are capable of doing what he does in just an hour, mixing tracks with flawless equalization and being able to totally switch off your mind and make you focus on the story he’s telling through the music. A real living legend.
