10 events not to miss this March in Barcelona

We reviewed the agenda for March in Barcelona and found 10 events that, for whatever reason, are of great interest to the city’s underground music scene 7

One more month. Let’s go for March, the third month of the year. The afternoons begin to lengthen and the desire to party, although it never disappears completely, comes to the surface more and more. The Canadian MUTEK festival lands in the city for the 11th consecutive year. Primavera Sound and Sónar have already announced their full line-ups. Cruïlla continues to complete its in phases, DGTL has moved its dates to September and Razzmatazz has already hung the sold-out poster on its March date with Amelie Lens. So, apart from that party with the Belgian DJ, the techno sensation of the moment, we bring you another 10 great options to go out and dance to good electronic music in Barcelona. Here are 10 dates – ordered by their date and time of celebration – to mark in red on your calendar.

Xceed-Barcelona-Input-Swing-Sven Vath

Swing is one of the unmissable dates each month in INPUT’s programme and, this March, it celebrates its fourth year of providing top-notch electronic music to Barcelona. To do so, it has one of the biggest names in the clubbing industry: the German Sven Vath. Cocoon’s head-honcho comes from celebrating 20 years of his brand in a memorable summer in Ibiza. It seems that the years don’t pass for him, as his sound is still one of the most genuine and convincing of the underground scene. With Sven Vath, Swing and INPUT will live a night for the books.

FJAAK will play in City Hall the tracks that most influence them at this time with a long-awaited DJ set.

When: Thursday, March 12th

Xceed-Barcelona-Input-Prism-Klangkuenstler-Raffaele Attanasio

We continue with rave sounds, this time again at INPUT, the club with the best sound in town. Their Prism party shows the raver side of the club and, for their March date, will feature the Bavarian Klangkuenstler, a guy who, like others like Mall Grab, has shown that it’s never too late to abandon softer sounds and give in to the more-than-130 bpms range. With him, a techno legend like Raffaele Attanasio and the club’s resident Hitch.

Kas:st, Innellea and more @ Onírica (INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club)

Xceed-Barcelona-Input-Onirica-Kasst-Innellea

If Prism presented the rave side of INPUT, Onírica presents its more melodic and introspective side. On March 20th, Onírica will feature two of the fittest duos on the melodic techno scene. On the one hand, the French duo Kas:st, whose recent release in Afterlife, titled “Hold Me To The Light”, gave a wink to the friendliest trance, calling the attention of Tale Of Us to such an extent that they released a remix. The German duo Innellea has also broken into melodic techno by releasing music on Afterlife (“Vigilans” was possibly their biggest hit), although their releases had been gathering good comments since long before.

When: Friday, March 20th
Where: INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club
Lineup: Kas:st, Innellea and Hitch
