While the big events of the Madrid summer, such as the Paraíso or A Summer Story festivals, are still waiting for their big date, Madrid’s increasingly interesting network of nightclubs continues to make the Spanish capital dance with some of the most interesting artists on the current electronic scene. Here are 10 events ordered by their date of celebration and, for whatever reason, you shouldn’t miss this March in Madrid.
Clearly, Sven Vath needs no introduction. The German selector is one of the greatest legends of European clubbing. He also comes from celebrating the 20th anniversary of his famous Cocoon party and label this summer in Ibiza, proving that his sound still sounds as powerful and convincing as it has over the last two decades. Sven Vath lands at EKHO, the party curated by the Code team every Friday at La Riviera.

The Adana Twins duo is known for fusing their hip-hop principles and their passion for club music, resulting in a sound inspired by house music, but which takes them to a more techno vibe thanks to the powerful bass and harmonic and vocal components more typical of indie-dance. The duo from Hamburg will star in a new Intime party on March 6th, this time at El Principito.

What can we say about Erick Morillo that we don’t already know? The Colombian is one of the biggest icons of clubbing. From Ibiza, he became known all over the world for his intense and endless house and groove music sessions, a sound that led him to perform at the biggest festivals in the world. Erick Morillo will be back in Madrid on March 8th to make The Domingueros dance.

The new Fluido party continues to consolidate its position as one of the most exquisite proposals for lovers of indie-dance, nu disco and italo-house sounds. Lauer was one of the 40 artists that we highlighted in 2019 for their incredible production rate, giving birth to some of the best tracks of the year. On Friday 13th, he will star in one of the best Fluido events to date.

Another Code for Fabrik’s Golden Books. This time, it’s the turn of one of the greatest of all time, American Jeff Mills. His industrial techno sound will be accompanied by other great UK breakers like Rebekah, Ben Sims or the ever-electric union of Surgeon and Lady Starlight, while the Area Club will be led by the new Ukrainian sensation Marika Rossa.

Another of the big Sunday events in Madrid is After Brunch, which on the afternoon of March 15th will feature the deep house tunes of two veteran names in the genre. On the one hand, the German duo Super Flu, formed by Mathias Schwarz and Felix Thielemann. With them, their compatriot Rampue, a regular for labels and events such as Innervisions.

Another intimate March night, where smoke, incense and candles will accompany, on this occasion, the melodic techno sound of Croatian-Danish Denis Horvat. His fruitful career as a producer has led him to release music for two of the most important labels of the moment: Innervisions, owned by Dixon and Âme, and Afterlife, owned by Tale Of Us. On March 20th, he will perform for 500 people at Intime Club Prive.

A tribute to the old-school, to the remember music and to the origins of Spanish dance culture. And not just any tribute, but one that lasts up to 13 hours. From 5pm on Saturday 21st, Fabrik will receive La Resistencia, extending the party until 6am with legendary names of our scene such as Raul Ortiz, Mauro Picotto, Aqualords, Nando Dixkontrol, Skudero or Xavi Metralla.

Joining forces has always been attractive. La Riviera will witness the union of Madrid-based Blackworks party and Parisian Contrast raves, which together bring to Madrid the acidic techno and rave sound of Clouds, Ayarcana and Noneoftheabove. The problem will not be the lack of bpm.

It’s impossible to close the month better. Wade is being the big sensation of the tech scene in Spain. His sessions loaded with mashups and self-produced remixes have made him a mass idol all over the country. One of his most important dates will be March 27th in La Riviera, where he will perform for EKHO, the party directed by the Code team.
