10 events not to miss this March in Barcelona

One more month. Let’s go for March, the third month of the year. The afternoons begin to lengthen and the desire to party, although it never disappears completely, comes to the surface more and more. The Canadian MUTEK festival lands in the city for the 11th consecutive year. Primavera Sound and Sónar have already announced their full line-ups. Cruïlla continues to complete its in phases, DGTL has moved its dates to September and Razzmatazz has already hung the sold-out poster on its March date with Amelie Lens. So, apart from that party with the Belgian DJ, the techno sensation of the moment, we bring you another 10 great options to go out and dance to good electronic music in Barcelona. Here are 10 dates – ordered by their date and time of celebration – to mark in red on your calendar.

The productions of &ME, Rampa and Adam Port sound every weekend in the most precise and exquisite clubs and events in the field of melodic electronica. Their experimentation with harmonies led them to create a joint brand and label, Keinemusik, which has become the flagship of the genre. The three of them rarely perform together in Barcelona, so this is a unique occasion to enjoy their musical concept live.

Sven Vath and more @ Swing 4th Anniversary (INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club)

Xceed-Barcelona-Input-Swing-Sven Vath

Swing is one of the unmissable dates each month in INPUT’s programme and, this March, it celebrates its fourth year of providing top-notch electronic music to Barcelona. To do so, it has one of the biggest names in the clubbing industry: the German Sven Vath. Cocoon’s head-honcho comes from celebrating 20 years of his brand in a memorable summer in Ibiza. It seems that the years don’t pass for him, as his sound is still one of the most genuine and convincing of the underground scene. With Sven Vath, Swing and INPUT will live a night for the books.

When: Saturday, March 7th
Where: INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club
Lineup: Sven Vath, Hitch, Pau Guilera and Jones May

[CANCELLED] FJAAK and more @ Room FM (City Hall)

Xceed-Barcelona-City Hall-Room FM-FJAAK

More than one will have to ask for a holiday the next day. Thursday the 12th is not just another night. City Hall continues to bet strongly on this day of the week and, on this occasion, welcomes the Room FM team to present the German duo FJAAK, without a doubt one of the names that have revolutionized the rave scene in the last five years with their devastating live show loaded with analog equipment. FJAAK will play in City Hall the tracks that most influence them at this time with a long-awaited DJ set.

When: Thursday, March 12th
Where: City Hall
Lineup: FJAAK

Xceed-Barcelona-Input-Prism-Klangkuenstler-Raffaele Attanasio

We continue with rave sounds, this time again at INPUT, the club with the best sound in town. Their Prism party shows the raver side of the club and, for their March date, will feature the Bavarian Klangkuenstler, a guy who, like others like Mall Grab, has shown that it’s never too late to abandon softer sounds and give in to the more-than-130 bpms range. With him, a techno legend like Raffaele Attanasio and the club’s resident Hitch.

When: Friday, March 13th
Where: INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club
Lineup: Klangkuenstler, Raffaele Attanasio and Hitch

Nic Fanciulli and more @ Sight x Azar (Pacha Barcelona)

Xceed-Barcelona-Pacha-Nic Fanciulli

This is going to be a long weekend, because, if it started on Thursday night, it will end on Sunday night in Pacha, without a doubt the best choice always to close the week. This time, Sight joins forces with Azar to present Nic Fanciulli, one of the most relevant DJs in the tech-house fields and a regular at the biggest festivals.

When: Sunday, March 15th
Where: Pacha Barcelona
Linuep: Nic Fanciulli, Thomas Villard and Karretero

Curses and more @ SUW (This Side UP)

Xceed-Barcelona-This Side UP-Curses

This Side UP and its label SUW (acronym for Side Up Works) are quoting the faithful to their indie-dance, dark disco and electro sound on March 20th to fly high with the American Curses, producer and DJ who bets on powerful low-speed electronica. SUW will also present Fledermaus’ live show, among others.

When: Friday, March 20th
Where: This Side UP
Lineup: Curses, Celestino, Fledermaus (live) and Coco The Coconut

Kas:st, Innellea and more @ Onírica (INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club)

If Prism presented the rave side of INPUT, Onírica presents its more melodic and introspective side. On March 20th, Onírica will feature two of the fittest duos on the melodic techno scene. On the one hand, the French duo Kas:st, whose recent release in Afterlife, titled “Hold Me To The Light”, gave a wink to the friendliest trance, calling the attention of Tale Of Us to such an extent that they released a remix. The German duo Innellea has also broken into melodic techno by releasing music on Afterlife (“Vigilans” was possibly their biggest hit), although their releases had been gathering good comments since long before.

When: Friday, March 20th
Where: INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club
Lineup: Kas:st, Innellea and Hitch

[CANCELLED] Denis Horvat and more @ NOM (Bikini Barcelona)

Xceed-Barcelona-Bikini-NOM-Denis Horvat

Another regular at Afterlife parties and on the label’s releases is Denis Horvat, one of the most interesting producers of melodic techno and house with strong indie-dance influences. The Danish’ selective preferences will put rhythm to NOM, the Saturday party at Bikini, next March 21st.

Where: Bikini Barcelona
