10 tips to make the most of your summer festival experience

Hangovers. Warm beer. Awful toilets and showers… Festival can sometime turn into your worst nightmare, the adventure of a lifetime. This summer 2017 will be full of great festivals and we don’t want you to have a crap experience. That’s why we’re coming up with a survival guide giving you 10 tips to make the most of this experience.

But first thing first, you will need to find the right one for you. There are a lot of festivals to choose from & you don’t want to end up somewhere you don’t belong. Have a look at our top 10 festivals in Europe for 2017 to pick the one you like. It can surely give you a couple of ideas to find what you are looking for according to your mood, tastes and the festival’s atmosphere. We want your summer to be the best of your life and your festival experience to be remembered so, take notes!

Don’t procrastinate

After choosing the right festival for you, get your ticket asap. Some festival’s tickets are going out very quickly or the prices are going up to the point where you can’t even buy it. So, get your tickets early! If you’re thinking of buying them at the door you’re wrong, you might most likely get ripped off.

Bring your shitty phone

One of the core rule coming to a festival is DO NOT TO BRING your last brand new Iphone. We know you want to take pictures & videos but is it worth it? You’ll run out of battery at some point, charging would be complicated adding the fact that there are 85% of chances it’ll be broken or stolen. Keep it simple: call and text is enough & browsing online is forbidden.

Invest in a phone charger

If you really don’t want to invest in a crap phone you’ll need an external phone battery. One flick of a switch gives your phone twice the battery life increasing the likelihood to find your drunk mates.

Sneak alcohol secretly

Because not everyone can afford or just can handle drinking beers all day/night long, we may eventually try to sneak alcohol into the festival. Warning: be discrete and ingenious. Big ups to our best friend the secret flask, mainstream, but worth trying. This time try to pour alcohol in your tube of sun cream (make sure to clean it well) and bring by your side your lightest skin colored, highest mate to be more credible.

Another golden tip would be to bring your camelback and fill it with your favorite alcohol. Personal, practical booze on your back and you’re good to go for the day/night.

Hydrate yourself (not only with alcohol)

Alright alright it might sound a bit boring but trust us water is your friend in every circumstance when dancing, tanning, passed out or being high… If you want to survive and make it to the end of the festival and not spend the last 2 days in a medic tent, drink water. This will reduce your chances to die from exhaustion.

Wet Wipes & hand sanitizer converts into your typical daily shower

With mud, sweat, coupled with the fact that the showers are fucking gross & what you did last night you’ll turn into a sort of wild smelly repulsive animal. In order to stay as fresh as possible, invest in wet wipes, hand sanitizer and get your own toilet paper. You’d be surprised how infrequently they’re replaced.

You shall bring your Rain Gear

Because it’s summer you think shit never happens? Wrong to think this way. It happens and it’s no fun when you aren’t prepared. Bring your rain gear & dry clothes in case of.  If you didn’t think of this and wanna play it the old fashion way, a plastic bag works like a charm.

Experience in pairs

Whether you’re the small and drunk person of your group that always loses everyone or the responsible one able to reunite the troupes, we advise to set a way of being spotted by distance. Flags, wings, reference point, whistle, talkie walkie… be creative but don’t let your man behind.

Be comfortable

No need for you to bring your top outfits. Seriously no one cares, no one will look at you. Do you really believe your glitters is gonna fix to your dirty face for 4 days? Be comfortable and in your clothes as well. A tricky one: the Jumpsuit. Not appropriate at all, picture yourself unbuttoning it every single hour in a portable toilet in the dark. Not convenient.

Leave at the appropriate time

Organization from the beginning to the end my friends! Pack your things up and leave the festival either very early or wait and leave when the crowd thins out. Don’t make the mistake to wake up and go around 7am and 9am. You’ll surely struggle and get stuck in a huge queue trying to get through the exit gates.
