Carl Cox Invites: Milano braces for a massive summer closing

As summer calms down after its peak in September, there’s always a little bit of residual energy left to give it your all. This time round, Gate Milano has decided to go for a different kind of wind-down entirely; instead of a low-key party to mark the end of the warm months, the city is bracing for a massive collective moment. Two years after his legendary night at Alcatraz, Carl Cox is returning to Milan, and he’s scaling the entire experience upward.

Fresh off his monumental residency at UNVRS in Ibiza, Cox has accepted a welcome on Saturday, September 19th, where he’ll be taking over Kozel Carroponte, an industrial spot built to host 12,000 dancers. Running from 17:00 until midnight, the event stakes this date as a victory lap, a grand finale, and a proper indulgence in acid house and champion techno.

The line up

The “Carl Cox Invites” moniker carries real weight here. Bringing a gritty, low-slung elasticity to the day is Desolat boss Loco Dice, whose Düsseldorf techno roots are always famously anchored by a sharp, hip-hop-influenced sensibility. Alongside him, Saved Records figurehead Nic Fanciulli will deliver the kind of rolling, long-form tech-house builds that have made his shared sets with Cox legendary over the decades. Rounding out the bill, Chelina Manuhutu and Jon Rundell add their insulate track selection needed for such and event.

Add Cox to the mix, with his ongoing Electronic Generations live evolution and a summer spent dropping unpredictable collaborative tracks, he arrives in Milan at his most creatively restless.
