The summer season is upon us and WEDJS 2016 is one of the most hotly anticipated weekly line-ups for EDM lovers, jam-packed with musical powerhouses that you would typically see headlining festivals like Tomorrowland. With the exception of Ibiza, it’s a completely unique party here in Spain, drawing a massive crowd week after week to Opium Barcelona. The setting couldn’t be any better, with a huge terrace opening out to views of the Mediterranean Sea and a pumping sound system to deliver the goods. The first confirmations for 2016 are Steve Angello, Eric Prydz, Armin van Buuren, Oliver Heldens, Martin Solveig, Kryder and W & W. Every Thursday night, get your tickets (they’ll sell out fast!) and enjoy!
And to get you excited, here are some fun facts you (probably) didn’t know about your favorite DJs playing at WEDJS this summer:
Martin Solveig
Martin Solveig had 300-400 headbands made in bulk so he would never have to wear the same one twice for a show. He used to be a tennis player, which is where his affinity for headbands all started.
W & W
Neither of these two have a drivers license. They’re both 26 but were too busy making music to take driving lessons! Oh well.
Eric Prydz
In his Reddit AMA, he stated that his biggest surprise fan was Hodor from Game Of Thrones. Yeah, we would be stoked about that too.
Armin Van Bueren
Armin Van Buuren was first a law student Leiden University in the Netherlands. Once he began doing well in his music career, he took a hiatus from studying and became a super-star DJ, but in 2003 he returned to the course and graduated.
Steve Angello
Oliver Heldens
Oliver has a thing for animals. Where would he take a girl on a first date? The zoo, apparently. He also has a guinea pig but because he’s always on the road his mother has the duty of taking care of it!
