Marcellus Pittman + Stefano Fusco Dj Set Alcazar Garden Marcellus Pittman, also known as Malik Pittman, is an influential DJ and producer from Detroit, widely recognized for his deep and soulful house style. From a young age, he was immersed in his city’s rich musical landscape, influenced by icons like The Electrifying Mojo and the jazz programming of Rosetta Hines. In the 1990s, he began DJing at college parties and weddings before fully entering the local music scene. In 1993, he collaborated with the hip-hop collective "Home Grown," marking the beginning of his journey as a producer. His first notable release was Essential Selections, Vol. 1 on Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature label. In 1998, he joined the Detroit supergroup 3 Chairs alongside Theo Parrish, Kenny “Moodymann” Dixon Jr., and Rick Wilhite, helping to shape the city’s signature house sound. Pittman later founded his own label, Unirhythm, through which he released his debut album, Pieces, in 2012. In 2024, he followed up with Radio Edits, continuing to explore new sonic territories while staying true to his distinctive style. His performances have taken him to major international festivals such as Primavera Sound, Igloofest, and Bass Coast, and to legendary clubs like Amnesia in Ibiza and Sala Apolo in Barcelona. With his authentic approach and deep love for vinyl culture, Marcellus Pittman remains a central figure in the global house scene.
