On this occasion, he will perform La Monte Young's Le Compositions 1960 on the organ of the Chiesa della Madonna di Fatima in Pinerolo. Le Compositions 1960 are presented as pieces with numerous unconventional performance indications, recontextualising the very concept of music performance. Among them, #7 is the one that focuses most on the variability and internal life of musical timbre: a large interval of just fifth between the notes si-fa#, "to be held for a long time". In this version, the pipe organ, thanks to its infinite variety of sound facets, is the ideal vehicle for launching into a sonic journey that is both essential and colorful at the same time. ----- 30-11-2024 h 21:30 presso Teatro del Lavoro, Pinerolo, via Chiappero 12 HYPER DUO concerto tastiere, percussioni, elettronica, video Formed by pianist Gilles Grimaitre and percussionist Julien Mégroz - is a Swiss experimental group devoted to contemporary creation, whose artistic aim it is to transgress stylistic boundaries and broaden horizons. Electrified or electronic, the repertoire for this concert is very much a reflection of the on-stage energy that HYPER DUO has been developing for many years. Alex Paxton's jazz-rock hyperactivity, Sarah Nemtsov's punkish samples and Colin Alexander's delicate waves will all be on show, along with the laughing complexity of the two musicians' own compositions. They'll be playing a new world premiere version of their 'Cadavre Exquis', a visual and musical kaleidoscope based on their latest video clip by artist Emmanuel Vion-Dury.
