Recall Gran Madre @ Lumen

The refurbishment of a degraded kiosk becomes an opportunity for the redevelopment of a stretch of riverfront in front of the monumental complex of the Gran Madre di Dio in Turin, by the De Ferrari architectural studio. In fact, the intervention is not limited to the single building, but extends to its surroundings, redefining a new paved and equipped public area. The shape of the new kiosk is inspired by the surrounding neoclassical context, (in particular, the stone base of the monument is the compositional matrix of the moulded counter) declining it in a contemporary and transparent language. Thanks to the generous overhang, the roof welcomes and shelters patrons and passers-by. Entirely made of steel and glass, the new kiosk offers unusual transparencies and reflections during the day and subdued lighting at night.
