I Candelai
The Associazione Culturale I CANDELAI, based in Via dei Candelai 65, in the heart of Palermo's historical centre, was founded in January 1996 with the intention of creating a space that would not only be a meeting point for people but also a meeting place for ideas, a reference and aggregation point for anyone wishing to propose and promote interesting and stimulating initiatives. The structure of the premises, a large hall on the ground floor and various spaces on the first floor, made it possible to create a multi-purpose centre (a space for exhibitions, conferences, concerts, shows, video projections, happenings, creative workshops, tea room, pubs, etc.) with a room equipped with an audio-light and video system and a refreshment area. The association's primary objective is the promotion and production of wide-ranging cultural activities with a focus on the enhancement of local resources. In fact, not infrequently, the festivals organised both inside and outside the association's premises see international artists side by side with the best local realities of the moment.
