Billie faced the worst and still kept singing. Her voice, her grit, her pain—they all echo what it means to keep going, no matter what. On Thursday, March 5, Bio Bio is showcasing the documentary ‘Billie’ (2019). Journalist Linda Lipnack Keuhl spent years collecting over 200 hours of interviews, and the result is raw, unfiltered, and real. You see Billie’s battles and her wins, the mess and the magic of being a Black woman and an artist. Restored, colorized footage puts you right in the room with her—her voice, her presence, still alive more than 60 years after she left us. Join us as we gather in Sigurd CPH’s nightclub and watch footage from Billie Holiday’s repertoire of nightclub performances, from a career that was too short but extremely impactful nonetheless.
