theBasement presents Red Axes for their first Night Shift of the Year

Get ready for an outstanding weekend at The Basement in Valencia the 17th of February. The group Red Axes is performing this Friday and guarantees us to experience a massive night.

Red Axes is the ambitious project formed by Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik, two young men from Tel-Aviv who have been making music together for many years now. Their musical past can be characterized as unusual. You are wondering why?

The duo went from the rock scene with their band Red Cotton to the dancefloor. In a very short time both became obsessed with music inspired by different styles that has never left them since: post-punk, new-wave, synth-pop, gothic rock, italo-disco and others. After soaking up those different currents, the two young men have been signed by Cosmo Vitelli, founder of the label I’m a Cliché. Since then, Red Axes began to create outstanding works with tracks combining house, disco and techno but above all impeccably executed.

Since 2009, the two friends have been focusing on house and techno. It is in 2012 that they came out of the dark thanks to the label I’m a Cliché that introduced them to the ‘cold-rave’ community. That announced the very end of their old group Red Cotton and the birth of Rex Axes.

In a very short time they became remixers, they created edits known on everyone’s turntables but also originals songs that enchanted many labels like Kill the Dj or Throne of Blood, the well-known Correspondant, Relish, Clouded Vision and many others. This success allowed the couple Red Axes to build and maintain a good reputation as amazing DJs of the underground.

How could we describe their music? Many influences are present in their album and all types of influence give you sensations or create new feelings. Songs like ‘Road of the Hills’ or the intro ‘Head Like Glass’ will transmit powerful emotions. Experience it yourself at The Basement in Valencia the 17th of February!

The Basement assures us to spend a night full of surprises as usual. We love its concept to change location and the atmosphere at every party they plan giving us a breath of fresh air. A concept that we love and surely that we are going to talk about soon again…
