In the southern part of the Croatian coast there is one of the most beautiful cities in the country: Trogir. Protected by UNESCO, this city-island maintains its medieval aspect, based on ancient castles and fortresses. In fact, one of those fortresses is Kamerlengo, gateway to the Island of Čiovo and, now, also one of the places of pilgrimage for those lovers of advanced techno music. For the sixth consecutive year, Kamerlengo will vibrate to the rhythm of Moondance Festival.
In the past, artists such as Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Butch, Dave Clarke, Octave One, Josh Wink or Oscar Mulero have shared the stage with the best names of the local Croatian scene, managing to bring an increasingly trending country to the first line of techno genre globally. Moondance has already launched the first confirmations for the days 9th, 10th and 11th August 2018, which don’t make us miss any of the previous year’s proposals.
At the moment, two big labels lead the pace. The first of them is Dystopian, which trusts on three giants like Rødhåd, Radio Slave and Monoloc. Each one with its nuances, all of them know how to combine the most battle techno with harmonic details that bring some touch to their sessions. The other big label to participate is Tresor, which brings K-HAND, Jonas Kopp, The Analogue Cops and Handmade. In Berlin, they don’t beat around the bush: killer techno with destructive bases and devilish speed. And Tresor is one of its greatest exponents. We can now prepare our shoes.
In Moondance, there is also space for live acts. The relevance of this format in the industry is getting bigger. The public’s demand for this type of much more authentic and personal performances is growing and festivals are aware of it. In that way, Moondance wanted to book the best live in the world: KiNK. The Bulgarian put aside his more house taste and, in recent years, moved towards techno, something that makes him fit perfectly with the identity of the festival.
The impressive touch on the keyboard by the Luxembourger Francesco Tristano and the always intriguing space trip by Eduardo de la Calle complete the live proposal. Forest People, Ivan Komlinović and Skeptik close the list of what, for now, we know about this sixth edition of the Moondance Festival. We still expect high-level confirmations for this event on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, an event that fuses summer, sun and heat with darkness, battle and the very long experiences associated with the most industrial, original and solitary regions of what, for a long time, we call simply TECHNO.
