It’s the closing ceremony of the year, and let’s face it, getting the jump on New Year’s is all about knowing where the sound system hits hardest. Spain, as always, is delivering the goods. And most likely still lingering because you’re one of those who like to start the year on the dancefloor, so we’ve provided the summary right here for you.
Barcelona
1st January – OUTPUT

This is a big one, no need for explanations really. On January 1st, OUTPUT teams up with Loud Contact for a New Year’s Day party starting at 10 am in the outskirt woods of Barcelona, which is pure class. Orchestrating the session is the master of minimal techno himself, Richie Hawtin, joined by Héctor Oaks‘ dynamic sound, amongst others, guaranteeing a whole day of uncompromising techno. This is a bucket-list event for connoisseurs.
31st December – Poble Espanyol

For a different scale, the city offers its monumental New Year’s Eve gathering at Poble Espanyol. While perhaps not strictly ‘underground’ as such, the sheer scale of kicking off the year in one of Barcelona’s coolest spaces is undeniable. This is one fueled by the solid local selectors, including HAL9000 and Alvaro Varen spinning techno and urban music alongside Mr Majestyk as well as the radio host and spinner Hanakito bringing her rare groove and hip hip to the mix.
31st December – INPUT Dance Club

INPUT Dance Club is keeping it simple this New Year’s; they’ve brought in the essential figure, Miss Kittin accompanied by Alexia Glensy and Hitch. Her sets blend techno, dark house and that raw electro edge she pioneered. If you’re a serious clubber in Barcelona who just wants to lock into the groove and avoid the amateur hour, this is your spot.
31st December – Les Enfants Brillants

Barcelona’s quest for high-fidelity sound finds its home at Les Enfants Brillants. For New Year’s Eve, the club leans into its roots, trading the anthems for a curation of respected selectors. Including UK diggers Hamish & Toby with their signature genre-bending chemistry, joined by the deep grooves of Javier Carballo. The sonic weight continues with a live set from LVCA and local support from Arista. Join the celebrations in the city’s favourite cave.
Valencia
31st December – Spook Club

The techno pedigree of Valencia is solid, and for New Year’s Eve, it’s all hands on deck. Craving that warehouse spirit? Spook understood the assignment, bringing us the hard edge from Italian techno head Alignment, supported by the cosmic sequencer Pawlowski and many more; this one goes on until 9:30 am the next day.
31st December – theBasement

The theBasement crew really knows how to curate a good night of minimal and house, and that’s why we’re here. Taking over the Novotel for the occasion, this party is built on a lineup of key regional players, including names like the unique Tunisian HearThuG, the local music hustler Hessa (co-founder of Cosmos vinyl label in Madrid), Muvement, and Marc Strap confirmed. With the lineup tempting enough as it is, two more are to be announced, so keep your ears peeled.
1st Janurary – Day One Electronic

One of the essential New Year’s Day parties in Spain. Running a full day at Veles e Vents in Valencia, Day One Electronic is a house music event that starts with breakfast at 10 am. The session carries on seamlessly until midnight, transitioning from the Open Air Terrace to the Rooftop Club. Leading the charge is Italian talent Nicola Calbi, backed by regional forces like Alex O, Jaime Soeiro, Rafa M, and many more.
Madrid
31st December – CORE

Madrid knows how to do New Year’s, but La Intuición is carving out its own space at CORE for those who prefer their resolutions with a bit of spicy beats. Kicking off right as the clock strikes midnight, this is an 8-hour party of the sassiest house, techno and everything in between. With Olvido and fukcnormal leading the booth, come join a crowd that will keep the dance floor warm until 8 am.
Palma de Mallorca
31st December – Selva Club

If you’re thinking of spending the New Year on the island, you might want to go over and pop your champagne at the Selva Club, where uncompromising techno is set to take place. Headlined by a true architect, Ben Sims brings his signature multi-deck mastery and tribal rhythms to the booth. Joined by C.O.A.V., Diego Sanjurjo and the SLV crew, this is a good move for the dance lovers.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
1st January – Oasis DIA UNO

Maybe this year you could escape the cold (assuming you’re coming from the northern hemisphere) and join the Gran Canaria crew for a 14-hour set where you get to see the sunrise; the party starts at 2 am. Oasis DIA UNO focuses on that feel-good spectrum and has split the charge between the “Hard Night” firestarters and the “Groove Morning” face-to-faces, where tech house master Detlef takes over. The radar includes names like Artnologia, Esther Bronchal, Aida Blanco and many more to go.
Málaga
1st, 2nd Janurary – Studio Club

Down south, Málaga’s Studio Club is setting the pace for New Year’s Day with an absolute race. Running for over 15 hours, from noon on January 1st until 7 am the next day, Studio grants the very best to its crowd. Securing Spanish techno titan Paco Osuna to command the decks with his minimal touch, supported by a groove-heavy roster featuring international names like Djebali, Mano Le Tough, Ivan Smagghe, and more. A sophisticated transition into 2026, behold.
