Learning music production in 50 lessons with Ableton

Ableton, the reference for electronic musicians with its Live software, has unveiled a new site for amateurs to learn the basics of music composition. If you’ve always wanted to try to make your own music without spending a huge amount of money, Ableton has it all. It’s the ideal website for you to become a future producer of electronic music.

The browser based version of Ableton is making music accessible to everyone. Notes, beats, scales, chords, tempo, basic structure, it basically gives you all the theoretical foundations of producing in seven chapters, themselves divided into several lessons.

Once you’re done with the theory you can go a step forward and hit ‘the playground chapter’ and finally create your own tracks. While you won’t be able to export these in the browser version, Ableton’s included the possibility to bring these projects across to Ableton Live. You should definitely try it out, who knows? You could be the next Jeff Mills.
