It’s been a solid year since A Poca Luz decided to bring Latin culture into Germany’s after-dark scene. Although we all know the country’s taste in sound is already top-tier, the local Latin community can’t help but crave the sort of perreo that goes down when a propulsive drum pattern starts going.
Someone has to hold down the Latin fort up north, and A Poca Luz has taken the responsibility upon themselves. After two successful editions in Hamburg, the third volume will be hitting the Mojo floor on the 8th of August for a proper anniversary celebration. It’s officially been a year since they first unlocked the Mojo Club doors, and in their own words, they remind us, “A Poca Luz is never just a party—it is an unforgettable experience”.
The crew want to make the night as unique and special as possible by inviting a series of international selectors to the booth, including the urban phenomenon Medallo Mami, Shilita, Gael Sanz and xxeppss.
But the movement will be heading down south too. Just a week after the Hamburg candles are blown out, A Poca Luz is taking the show on the road, heading down to launch their Munich debut on the 14th of August at Space for Skate. They’re bringing in Dani Diaz, Humani, and Flakko to supply the energy. Although the night calls for the real ones to join, anyone who wants to move to that reggaeton rhythm can head their way.
Crucially, whether you’re under the vaults of Mojo Club or on the ramps in Munich, A Poca Luz only works if everyone can actually let loose. The crew are big on mutual respect, operating a strict “Respeto Ante Todo” policy across all their events. It’s all about keeping the dancefloor a safe, welcoming space free from any toxic nonsense. If you see something that doesn’t sit right, tell someone working there, cause the team always has your back.
With things moving this fast, keeping an eye on them is probably a wise move. Whether you’re in the north or the south, the heat will be coming.
