Part of our hearts went out when the iconic Printworks London announced its shutdown, with 2023 as its last season. But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the crew behind the English clubbing Mecca have announced the birth of Drumsheds. A new venue for up to 15,000 people that is set to open its doors in September.
Inside a former IKEA warehouse, the space has ditched the oddly named furniture and will turn into a space of worship for culture and its various forms.
Drumsheds is a unique space for all. Reimagined from unused warehouses, it breaks free from the constraints of traditional spaces with a blank canvas design and state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The creators of this milestone are Broadwick Live (the team behind Printworks, Beams and Field Day). Entertainment experts who are now delivering a fresh and big new vision for the industry. Drumsheds will be 608,000 sqm and, it seems, will retain its warehouse and industrial look without much tinkering. A hybrid, multi-level, multi-room titan. As for Printworks itself, Broadwick is rumoured to be planning to reopen from 2026.
A place without walls, where nothing is fixed. Festivals, large-scale entertainment, private parties, fashion, exhibitions, filming, photography, product launches, and brand activations: something for every community and niche. Like never before.
FIRST CONFIRMED ACTS OF THE NEW CLUB
The grand opening of Drumsheds will take place on Saturday 7th October with La Discothéque. Genres such as disco will kick off with artists such as Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King, Jocelyn Brown, Kenny Dope and Derrick Carter. A week later, the duo Gorgon City will captain the night along with others such as Armand Van Helden. October will end with the renowned Spanish brand elrow in its spookiest version with Horroween.
In a country with a drum & bass tradition, it was essential to have the top stars of the genre, such as Andy C, who will be headlining on 11 November. After the success in Ibiza, Jamie Jones arrives on the 18th with Paradise followed by Camelphat on the 25th November. The Hydra‘s Printworks success will continue its legacy in December on the 8th. Of course, Belgium’s acclaimed Charlotte de Witte is not to be missed with her KNTXT brand on the 9th and her acid vision of techno. All tickets are available now!
