We chose the name Retrobottega because we believe that the cook is a craftsman who works in the back without being too conspicuous while creating something genuine. Our laboratory wants to be a stimulating meeting point both for those who work there and for those who attend it and at the same time a starting point for us to develop new ideas together with anyone who wants to share them. Our laboratory is located in Via della Stelletta 4, in the historic center of Rome and a short walk from Piazza Navona, and offers a different experience for those who want to experience a natural cuisine enriched by the wise touch of our "shopkeepers" that makes it innovative, modern and unique. Two are our watchwords: no waste and sharing. The menu, which varies periodically depending on the season and raw materials available on the market, will take you through a return to the origins of traditional cuisine. We reduce waste by reusing it in an innovative way for the preparation of dishes that have nothing to envy to those made with the finest raw materials. And then sharing, because one of our goals is to break down the "barriers" between chef and customer by creating a convivial atmosphere in which to participate in the experience of eating. To this end you can sit at our counter, set yourself up with everything you need that you will find in our drawers and serve yourself a drink ... Enjoy!
