Opened in the 1960s, La Machine du Moulin Rouge has become one of the iconic halls of Parisian underground clubbing. Today, it hosts a programme alternating between international headliners and emerging local talents in its two halls, La Chaufferie and Le Central.
Located just near the Blanche metro station, next to the legendary eponymous cabaret in the heart of Pigalle.
When it was founded in the 1960s, the club was called La Locomotive and became a mythical landmark for the under-20s of the Yéyé generation. In the 1980s the programming evolved and the club became a new temple of rock. It was then the largest nightclub in Paris and artists like David Bowie came to perform here. Then, at the beginning of the 21st century, the club left more and more room for DJs until reaching its current form. La Machine du Mouline Rouge, reopened in 2010 after two months of renovation. Since then, very popular parties have been held there such as the Splash (dubstep), Club Trax or even We are the 90's.
La Machine du Moulin Rouge is a club open all year round. No specific dress-code is required to access the site. Club evenings usually last from 11:30 pm to 6 am.
