Arthur Robert, born in Vienna to Romanian parents, blends cultural depth with a lifelong passion for sound. One of his earliest sonic memories is of embracing a massive speaker, feeling the bass vibrate through his body—a formative experience that ignited his fascination with music. At sixteen, he began teaching himself to DJ drum and bass using vinyl, marking the start of his journey into electronic music. In his early twenties, Arthur moved to Amsterdam, drawn by the city’s vibrant techno scene. A pivotal visit to Berlin’s iconic Berghain further cemented his commitment to the genre. Since then, he has developed a deeply focused studio practice, recording his tracks in single, unedited takes that preserve their raw energy and intent. Arthur’s sound is defined by live electronics, groove-led rhythms rooted in Detroit techno, and nuanced influences from jungle and breaks. His live sets, built with synthesizers and samplers, are immersive and dynamic—crafted for the dancefloor, but rich in detail. Outside techno, Arthur composes cinematic soundtracks and shares his expertise through teaching sound design and production. Whether on stage or in the studio, he brings a purist’s devotion and evolving artistry to everything he does, resonating with audiences around the world.
