Bio

Daria Kolosova's 12 years of experience as a DJ and her great passion for the depths of electronic music have transformed into her amazing versatility and competence as an artist. Daria was born in the small town of Lutugino in eastern Ukraine. Her love for music was instilled in her by her father and her devotion to electronic music began at the age of 9 when she first heard Diesel Power by The Prodigy. To further fuel her love of music, her mother sent her to music school where she studied piano. However, drawn to DJing from an early age, Daria gave herself to her calling, which led to her first performance in February 2010. After that, she continued to actively play in clubs in Lugansk and other cities while organizing her own parties. After being inspired by the Kiev electronic scene and absorbing the vastness of electronic music genres, Daria sharpens her taste and moves to Kiev, where she becomes a resident of Keller under her alias Dark:k and launches a series of parties called Materia together with her partner Berchy. After being actively involved in the electronic music scene for some time, Daria starts using her own name, dropping her Dark:k moniker as an experimental project. She started headlining most of the underground nightclubs in Kiev, played at Ostrov' festival and Techno Raczka in Krakow. Soon after, Nastia offers her to perform a B2B which led to their first debut at Arma17's birthday party event at Berlin's Funkhaus. The performance spurred their new collaboration, which was followed by a tour of Brazil, performances at Warung, Boiler Room at Pacha Ibiza, Rex Club in Paris, Fabric in London, the Resistance party, Neopop Festival, Strichka and many others. After the tour Daria would continue her solo career DJing at events such as Berlin's queer party Mess, at Tresor, at Faust in Seoul, etc. As a DJ, Daria never pretends to deliver what is expected of her, but rather tries to convey her personal narratives through music. Daria sees music as the most genuine method of communication, empathy and unity, a tool that helps her transform her distinctive energy into a story that can be shared with people on the dance floor. She wishes, not only to provide a danceable and enjoyable set, but also to inspire and introduce people to something new and daring. Daria bases her style on hard and groovy techno, which she often mixes with breakbeat, electro, hardcore or jungle, which always makes her performances unexpected and rich in genres.
