Highlights, tips & info to live authentic going out experiences in Murcia
What time do people go out and how is the nightlife in Murcia?
Murcia is a city full of joy and in which one breathes a clearly youthful spirit. The reason? It’s a city where a university atmosphere reigns. And we already know that this is synonymous of social life. Social life, above all, in the streets. The temperature in Murcia cannot be compared between, for example, winter and spring, not to mention the heat in summer, which is almost unbearable! Not for nothing is it said of Murcia that, in summer, it is practically a ghost town. If you want to party in Murcia, one thing is clear: you'll have to bet on Thursdays and Saturdays and, to a lesser extent, on Fridays too. Pubs and bars, most of which are located around Tascas, are usually open until 4 am. If that is not enough and you are looking for really loud music, you should go to Atalayas. That's where the nightclubs and discotheques are concentrated, usually open until 6 or even 7 in the morning. You want to extend it even further? Then we can tell you that Moss from time to time has extended hours schedules. If you’re looking for after-hours, ask the locals. Especially in the electronic clubs, they will know how to advise you. One last piece of advice: as we were saying, Murcia is known for being almost a ghost town during summer. If you are going to be here in the months of June, July or August, we recommend you to visit the coastal areas. Practically all of Murcia moves there to continue dancing... closer to the Mediterranean Sea.
Which are Murcia's best neighborhoods to go out?
Are you into reggaeton, hits and, in short, commercial music? Congratulations: Murcia is your place. Whether it’s in bars or in nightclubs and discotheques, the most mainstream musical proposals are the ones that set the pace, in Tascas as well as in Atalayas. If, on the other hand, you are looking for alternative and/or underground electronic music, we recommend you to visit Moss (yes, the same club that sometimes schedules extended hours). That's where you'll find the most interesting line-ups. You can also find alternative proposals in the complementary rooms of Atalayas' commercial clubs, especially tech-house music.
How expensive is to go out in Murcia?
If there is one advantage in Murcia, is that it’s not at all an expensive city to go out and party. The entrance to clubs or discotheques has an average cost of 10€ and always includes a drink, which can be a beer or a long-drink, at least. In many occasions, you might be able to pay 15€ for the entry fee, with two drinks included. As for the bars, most of them won’t require an entry fee, although, some may ask you to pay 5€ with one or two beers included. Once in the bar, a beer could cost 0.50€ or, at most, 1€. A real deal, right? If you're more of pre-party at home or a drinking in the park (we don't recommend the latter because of possible problems with the police), a bottle of alcohol in a supermarket or a grocery store shouldn't cost you much more than 15€.
What's the dress code in Murcia?
If the intention is to go to a nightclub or discotheque, a shirt and shoes are recommended for boys and shoes - possibly heels - for girls. It’s rare to see a Murcian wearing sports shoes, except in electronic music and underground clubs.
