Dopo dieci anni di attività e album acclamati come Every Bad e Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder to the Sky, lo scorso 15 gennaio i Porridge Radio hanno comunicato ufficialmente la decisione del loro scioglimento. In concomitanza con l'annuncio, la band ha annunciato l'uscita del loro ultimo EP, The Machine Starts to Sing, previsto per il 21 febbraio 2025. La frontwoman Dana Margolin ha dichiarato: "Questa è l'ultima nuova musica dei Porridge Radio e segna la fine della band e significano molto per noi. Siamo entusiasti che le ascoltiate. Questa band è stata la nostra vita, siamo una famiglia ora. Questi saranno i nostri ultimi concerti. Grazie mille a tutti per averci ascoltato." La notizia è stata accolta con molta tristezza dai tanti fan sparsi per il mondo che però ora avranno l’occasione per rivederli dal vivo un’ultima volta e celebrare insieme il grande impatto che questa band ha avuto nella scena musicale indipendente.

The Monk, whose name is deliberately inspired by the omnivorous and revolutionary talent of jazz pianist Thelonious Sphere Monk, was born in Rome in the Casalbertone/Portonaccio district, less than a kilometer from one of the capital's most important hubs, the Tiburtina railway and metro station.
It is an open and inclusive space dedicated to those who want to produce, share, and engage with cultural experiences, including specific activities for all age groups. The content on offer is aimed at those who are curious about new artistic and cultural productions, as well as those who enjoy seeking out small projects by independent artists.
