Israel Vines

Israel Vines is a veteran selector with over two decades of experience and little patience for mediocrity. Bred in the 90's underground scene of the American Midwest, he now lives and works in Los Angeles. DJ. Producer. Remixer. Israel Vines is from literally everywhere. Having spent formative rave years in Detroit, working at Gramaphone in Chicago, he now lives and works in Los Angeles. He first made an impact with his label Borrowed Language, doing a number of split EPs and collaborations with Jeff Pietro, where the two created a strange combination of thunderous Birmingham Techno and modern Bass Music. Vines has also released on Cult Figures and Semantica, while providing remixes for Erika, Makaton, and Stave. In addition to continuing to evolve his expansive DJ sets, he is currently collaborating with Chicago artist Kit Geary as KGIV and continuing his own solo work. KGIV's first release will come via Horizontal Ground in 2015, while Vines' next solo material will appear via Interdimensional Transmissions' new sub-label, Eye Teeth.
