Most notably renowned as one half of successful DJ and production duo Amelie, Claudia Lovisa has made huge waves as a solo artist on the international underground music scene. Labels including Supernature, 1trax and Akbal Records have snapped up her trademark sound whilst gripping sets across the globe continue to prove her worth behind the decks. Her mixing skills have enabled her to play along side luminaries such as Steve Bug, Audiofly, Konrad Black and Damian Lazarus. Claudia’s musical journey stems right back to her youth in South Africa - whilst not forgetting her Italian roots - where her love affair with both music and vinyl was born. From hours of hanging around the DJ booth of her favourite clubs she was heavily inspired by the infectious sound and attitude of the music. She relocated to London at the turn of the millennium, honing in on her sound and quickly picking up residencies and guest slots at clubs and parties including The Cross, The End and Retox. Her fluid and intriguing sets have also resulted in her playing standout gigs which include Miami WMC, Sonar in Barcelona, Germany’s Love Parade, Pacha and Ushuaia Ibiza, Cub Midi in Romania, D-Edge in Brazil and BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. In 2007 Claudia soon found her feet as a producer after studying at SAE in London and grabbing the attention of Audiofly with Amelie's addictive blend of solid grooves and a true underground edge. A successful first release alongside Audiofly - aptly dubbed ‘Under The Radar’ - soon gave rise to remix requests flooding in from Alex Niggeman and Fabio Giannelli, as well as further releases on 1trax and SK Supreme. Claudia's focus shifted towards personal projects after moving to Ibiza in 2009. Her debut EP ‘Nightrider’ found its way into the record bags of everyone from Luca Bacchetti to Jamie Jones – a real testimony to her talent in the studio which shows no sign of slowing down. Now living back in Cape Town since August 2013, Claudia is enjoying being part of the massively growing music scene which she feels is important to be part of as a South African. Taking her experience and music knowledge she acquired over the years, she's playing some of the best events and clubs the country has to offer as well as collaborating with local artists.
