Avikal, an Indian word which means: “he, who understands the meeting point with people and creates harmony”. This is the stage name chosen by Simone Pugliese, Italian DJ and producer now based in Lisbon, after a life around the world exploring different sonority, from deep house to tech house, through progressive house to pure techno. He played in the most iconic clubs of Milano, his hometown, like Top Town, 4cento, Hollywood, Magazzini Generali, Old Fashion, Q21, Masada, Shambala, Volt and Amnesia. His passion for the music pushed him very far: Koh Panghan (where he played at Eden, Lighthouse, Lost Paradise and Guys Bar), Berlin (Kater Blau, Wilde Renate, Sisyphos and Magdalena), Zurich (Revier Club), and Kazakhistan. He shared the console with different international artists as Britta Arnold, Sascha Cawa, Niconè, Marcus Meinhardt, Sven Dohse, Meggy, Nico Stojan, The Cheapers, Daniel Dreier, Jens Bond, Ida Daugaard, Jake The Rapper, Kotelett & Zadak, Kollektiv Ost, Francesca Lombardo and Satoshi Tomiie. Avikal co-created ODD (Organization for Daylight Dancing), the first daylight party in Milano, which combines different artistic contents, digital performances and various genres of music, at Masada, where he’s now hosting his new party, Hoover. In 2020, he moved to Lisbon where he opened with some partners Micro, a club for events and parties with International and Portuguese line-up. Since 2016, Avikal is co-producing original tracks and spreading his music around the world.
