RAKOM
Rakords / RKDS003
For this EP Rakom provided four tracks that differ a lot but all have one thing in common:
The Spirit of Techno:
“Break, Brother!” pounds you with a broken kick drum to the sections with breakbeat elements before the crash and steers you into an “I might as well lose it all to this sound” kind of attitude. The main idea of this track is based on the famous drum break from the Track “Amen, Brother” - With his past as a Drummer it is only obvious that Rakom is fascinated by this piece. The Amen break is also a part of the third track of this EP.
“Perpetuum” - For this piece we do need to refer back to the actual age of RAKOM. At this point of his development to throws a track that grows on you like ones from other true masters do. This track could be hidden in a set of Cari Lekebush, Gary Beck, the Advent but also a Ritchie Hawtin. Listen for yourself!
“Tension”, where everything is handmade, with the love for detail and affection to groove and rhythm in a techno-driving experience. Way beyond seven minutes this track is to be fully enjoyed by hopefully many of you. Percussion as the key elements and an arrangement close to Techno classics we love make this track seem like a bridge between generations. Take the time to listen to this one.
“Replica” brings evidence, of how machines can talk! Next to the theme line, you will
hear sequences of a human voice which are not sampled but programmed. "Replica" is intended to be a grooving version of the original track: “Break, Brother!”
