KASTLE Originally part of a small crop of American artists inspired by dubstep, garage, grime, jungle and other ‘nuum sounds, Kastle has transitioned through multiple aesthetic iterations since he burst into the popular consciousness 6+ years ago, fostering a thriving touring career, releasing a critically and commercially successful debut album, and heading up his own wildly successful label. Across several releases on his own Symbols label, the Los Angeles-resident has filtered hip hop and R&B through the aforementioned UK sounds, developing a sound rife with pop consciousness and a keen sense of melody, all while retaining a strong devotion to under-the-radar sounds. Kry Wolf Kry Wolf are fast becoming recognised as one of the UK’s most exciting underground players due to their distinctively creative and varied production style and consistently strong releases. Raising the bar with their smash ‘Turbosteppa’, a collaboration with Dirtybird label boss Claude VonStroke, the duo are also behind two of the most exciting labels around at the moment in Sounds of Sumo and Food Music. Obsessively putting in the studio hours, their productions have ranged from house, garage, bass, to experimental as they continually refuse to be pigeon-holed. With names like A-Trak, Joe Goddard, Claude VonStroke, Annie Mac, Eats Everything, Zinc, Mistajam and Mary Anne Hobbs dropping their tracks, the word of the Wolf is spreading fast.
