HUGS

HUGS is a quiet and moving exploration of touch, tenderness, and the delicate boundaries of closeness. Three dancers remain in an ongoing embrace, unfolding a choreography that lingers in the space between comfort and tension, presence and vulnerability. Through this prolonged closeness, the piece allows the emotional and psychological layers of intimacy to emerge; its gentleness, its contradictions, its complexity. With precise and poetic movement, HUGS asks: Where does closeness end, and where do boundaries begin? Each evening offers a soft, respectful journey into themes of consent, care, and safe encounters. There is no spectacle of pain—only presence, attentiveness, and an invitation to open a delicate conversation together. After every performance, Marion Plantey and her team will engage in an open discussion with the audience—sharing methods, findings, and reflections, and welcoming curiosity. We believe dialogue doesn’t need to be loud to be heard. Understanding can begin gently. The project extends beyond the stage: three workshops (August 30th, September 6th, and September 14th – 14.09 FLINTA* only) invite participants to explore these themes more personally.
