"Makamaka" means "intimate friend" in Hawaiian, just like Andrea and Steef are. They were housemates in Amsterdam, but both were sure they would end up doing something great on warmer beaches one day. In 2012, Andrea created the Makamaka, and he was able to use his friend's skills as a conceptual architect. The environment of the Makamaka is very 70s. It is a self-proclaimed Beach Burger Café and its call to the wind says it all: in Makamaka we share burgers, cocktails and besos (kisses, in Spanish). You will find a young and international atmosphere. And, everything, in the middle of the Barceloneta, breathing the salt of the sea in every dish or drink you order.
