About

SATURDAY | JULY 2017 @ RAZZMATAZZ CLUBS | Opening doors 01:00am 1 Ticket 4 clubs >>> RAZZCLUB, THE LOFT, LOLITA, POP BAR. THE LOFT: CULOE DE SONG + BALDO Born in the northern parts of South Africa’s east coast, Culolethu Zulu, also known as “Culoe De Song”, hasn’t looked back after putting passion in the forefront of his life. He’s been living music ever since his talent, as a Dj & Producer was acknowledged not too long ago. Culoe’s serious music career began in early 2007 where he produced a piece that made him a feature in Black Coffee’s second offering, “Have Another One”. The track was named “100 Zulu Warriors” & carries a fundamental importance for Culoe De Song as he regards it as ‘his beginning’ in the circle of music in South Africa. Comes the year 2008, he produced a number of projects that gained him international recognition and performed alongside international acts such as Rocco, Manoo, Black Coffee, Vinny Da Vinci... This was after his performance as Dj was noted by the likes of Dj Christos, one of South Africa’s pioneers in the dance music scene. He then joins Soulistic Music, a label founded by Black Coffee and till this moment it’s been a great adventure for Culoe De Song as a member of this family. Tracks such as “Dwellers of the Jungle”, “Inspiration”, “100 Zulu Warriors (Remix)” made compilation releases in South Africa. Culoe De Song also achieved a great involvement with the Red Bull Music Academy after being selected to be one of the worldwide participants to attend the Academy in Barcelona, Spain in 2008. During that time Culoe De Song performed in places such as Club Macarena & Fellini in Barcelona. In the current year 2009, Culoe De Song signed under Germany’s Innervisions, a family of acts such as Dixon, Ame, Henrik Schwarz… releasing tracks such as “The Bright Forest”, “Super Afro” & “African Subway”. Also, he is now working on a number of projects as part of his emerging international introduction, including the Reggie Dokes “ Let Me Go” EP released on Boddhi Satva’s Offering Recordings, Belgium. Culoe De Song is working towards making a number of world appearances & portraying the best image of what lies in the inside his heart. He is also due to perform in the 2009 Sonar Festival taking place in Barcelona, Spain… RAZZCLUB: DJ YODA & REEPS ONE Think hip-hop. Think The Muppets. Think scratching. Think 80s pop. You can only be thinking about DJ Yoda. DJ Yoda (Duncan Beiny) is from London, England, and is probably the only guy out there playing the theme tune to “Cheers” in hip-hop clubs. And you can find him in the club (like 50 Cent) most nights per week – Yoda has travelled as far as Japan, USA, Canada, Sweden, Ireland and Australia to DJ with the likes of De La Soul, Gang Starr, Goldie, Roni Size, Pete Tong and the Scratch Perverts. He won the DMC Scratch DJ category of the Diesel U Music Awards 2001, and was one of 6 nominees for best UK hip-hop DJ in UK Hip-Hop Awards. He has been voted 6th best DJ in the World in Hip Hop Connection's 2002 Reader's Poll. As a key member of the Fat Lace crew, he has edited The Magazine for Ageing B-boys, but he also writes the DJ page for the UK's biggest hip-hop magazine - Hip Hop Connection. Yoda is also hip-hop correspondent for trendy style mags Sleaze Nation and The Face, and DJ magazine IDJ. As well as being a resident at top London hip-hop clubs Spread Love, Step Up Front and The XFM All City Night, Yoda's DJ duties have also included judging the last three year’s DMC DJ World Finals. His debut mix CD "How To Cut And Paste" (Antidote Records) was released to critical acclaim in October 2001, with favourable press ranging from Q Magazine to Maxim, The Times to Music Week and Ministry Magazine to Hip Hop Connection. It was Compilation of the Month in Jockey Slut magazine. He has also recorded mixes for XFM and Radio 1. Buy your ticket now!!

Club
You cannot fully understand the musical culture and nightlife of Barcelona without mentioning Razzmatazz. It is one of the most renowned venues within the national and international scene. Founded in 2000, it was the first Spanish dance hall to open every single day of the week with its five different rooms, all under one roof. It is a building that is, in itself, an emblem of the city; a relic of Barcelona’s industrial landscape from the 90s, which combines perfectly with the underground feel to the club. The main room, the Razzclub, forms the backbone around which its younger sisters function: Lolita, PopBar, Rexroom and The Loft, the favorite of electronic lovers. All records, styles and disciplines have a place within the four walls of Razzmatazz @ Number 122, Calle Almogavers. RazzClub is known for being a benchmark of the European indie scene. The best indie-pop, new wave, nu-rave, electro-rock and the best live acts from artists like Arctic Monkeys, Foals, The 1975, Two Door Cinema Club, Yelle, David Byrne, Coldplay, Orbital, Pulp, The Strokes , Kanye West, Blur, Belle and Sebastian. - Lolita plays music styles such as House, Future Beats, Electropop, nu-disco, old school electro, Italo, hip hop, trap, dubstep that have come out of the hands of artists such as Justice, Airplane, Juan Maclean, The Magician, Tensnake, Space Dimension Controler, Cyril Hahn and Eton Messy among others. - In PopBar you can find an incredible mix of the best Pop: Northern soul, technopop, electro-rock, twee-pop, 80's, classic Indie, RnB and the most hyped songs of the moment, thanks to great guest Djs and first class residents. - Rexroom works as a kind of experimentation centre where different styles converge: house, italo-disco, acid, gay house and old-school electro. - Finally, The Loft, a favourite amongst followers of the best international electronic; a spacious room where you can find the most avant-garde sounds of Barcelona. Paul Kalkbrenner, Jeff Mills, Kevin Saunderson, Len Faki, Boys Noize, Ben Sims, Dave Clark, Floating Points, and The Black Madonna guarantee their well-deserved reputation. The dress code is very casual. The wide variety of music tastes, cultures and styles played every night in Razzmatazz attract a very large and very diverse audience. No labels, no prejudice, total freedom and your clothes can say anything you want them to. Despite the club’s immense capacity, the “sold out” sign has been hung outside Razzmatazz on numerous occasions. To ensure entry you can buy your tickets in advance with Xceed. Razzmatazz never sleeps - it’s true! The nightclub opens 3 of its rooms every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday of every month. Sundays are for INSERT, an afternoon session for lovers of the most pure techno. During the remaining days of the week, the room is open to host a variety of concerts and live performances that usually last from 8pm until 11pm. The ticket price varies depending on the party, but in average the price for a normal night is around 15€.
