David Read's musical trajectory can be roughly charted as punk/hardcore in high school, hip-hop in his early twenties, and after moving to Barcelona from his native California at 24 years old, electronic music. An ongoing love for these genres gave us “Sine” - a synth-based RnB-electronic experiment with a special attention to the lyrics. Then, David released CHOIR - remixes of the EP accompanied by a music video for the single “Wurley.” The video shines a light on dissociation, the phenomenon of feeling outside oneself and being disconnected from reality, the sensation that your hands are not your own. David's upcoming work, "In That Blue," an electronic offering brimming with soul and story, was written over two years in his studio in Barcelona. It was an exhausting record to make - the tumult of a breakup interrupted by the happiness of meeting the love of his life. His live show is immersive, joyful, and emotionally charged. Combining a DJ's sensibilities and musician's skill, his sets are special, to say the least. Employing live vocals, controllers, and synths, Read brings a raw and organic wind to the dancefloor.
