However, in T.A. 1980 the miners, pushed by their greed while searching for Mithril mistakenly awoke Durin’s Bane, a Balrog, which led to the city’s collapse and abandonment to Orcs. In T.A. 2793 Thrór attempted to reclaim Moria but was killed by Azog the Defiler, an act that began the bloody War between the Dwarves and the Orcs. The war culminated in the Battle of Azanulbizar; though the Dwarves were victorious, their losses were too great to face Durin’s Bane and retake the city. Centuries later, the Fellowship of the Ring passed through the ancient city, where Gandalf faced and slew Durin’s Bane. This event finally allowed the Dwarves to reoccupy and restore Moria to its former splendor at the beginning of the Fourth Age.” Dear MRC lovers, our 4th season at our massive-lovely cave of SRNDPT Club is almost ready to happen.
