Nerone posesses the three most important virtues a DJ must have: curiosity, a natural gift for mixing, and a will to enjoy his sets alongside the crowd. These virtues allowed him to start spinning records from a tender age, starting in Turin, Italy in the mid nineties and from then on following his star to Argentina, back to Italy and finally settling in Barcelona for good in 2003 when he was given the opportunity to become resident dj and promoter of the highly acclaimed Bugged Out! Parties in Spain. They say that when in Rome, you should act Roman, and Nerone did exactly that. Used to travelling the world since birth, he became a staple in every scene in which he thrived. In Argentina he played everywhere from world renown Pacha to staples like Niceto, Big One or Shamrock Basement, then every single club in the Southern Atlantic coast, Cordoba and Ushuaia, making it to the end of the world. In the passed years, his South American tours have found a strong base in Brazil where he spends several weeks every year travelling from North to South performing in clubs such as D-Edge, Dama de Ferro, Hot Hot, Vegas or Deputamadre. In Italy he’s been summer resident at Tartana in Follonica, Tuscany; made an impact at clubs like La Batik in Rome, Magazzini Generali & The Roket in Milan, Cassero in Bologna plus Xplosiva and Hiroshima Mon Amour in his family hometown: Turin. Since his arrival to the Mediterranean city of Barcelona, Nerone never ceased to play throughout the city’s many venues. What is now known as Club Catwalk saw the dawn of Bugged Out! in Spain with Nerone as resident. Eventually, he would play almost every single nightclub in town - from maze-like Razzmatazz/Loft to cosy old theatre City Hall, where Nerone played as a guest for international club nights such as 20:20 Vision, Brique Rouge, Freak n Chic, Bugged Out!, Crosstown Rebels or La Rèsistance! Not to mention futuristic club-installation Kubik, or trendy Be Cool. Nerone even played at SONAR twice for Spain’s ¨RNE 3 ¨radio station directly from their tent in 2004 and 2005.. A strong presence in Barcelona´s club scene soon allowed him to spread his wings around Europe performing in clubs such as Weekend Berlin, The End London, Privilege Ibiza, Kubik Hamburg or Italian ClubtoClub Festival. He eventually was swept away to the best of shores, and started his club night Screw U! in 2006 at Moog club. Visual Art, Set Designs and Music where perfectly combined to create one of Barcelona’s most popular events. In a very short time Screw U! was successfully presented around Europe and South America, in cities like Hamburg, Berlin, Milan, London, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. In 2009 he decided it was time to said goodbye to the Screw U! experience in search of expanding both his sound and scope as an artist, continuing to book some of the most avant-garde and interesting artists of today’s electronic scene. Andrew Weatherall, Matias Aguayo, Mathew Jonson, Guillaume Coutu Dumont, Khan, Jahcoozi or Losoul are just a few of the guests Nerone had over as curator of unforgettable nights at Moog. In the past few years, Nerone has not only evolved his natural DJing skills and instincts, but has also become a respected entrepreneur who was able to bring true artistry back to a city which, in recent years, lost much of its allure for electronic music enthusiasts. His pioneering sounds and vision make him the host of world known Canadian festival MUTEK, in its Spanish incarnation. 2010 saw Nerone at the forefront of both electronic music and art events in the city of Barcelona, developing the first ever Micro.MUTEK in Spain presenting artists such as Akufen, dOP, Le K, Sonja Moonear, building a strong collaboration with LiveSoundtracks and Italian wizards Drama Society where the latter provided a live soundtrack for Pasolini´s legendary film Theorema. Most recently, he got rave reviews while playing alongside Green Velvet at Ghoa Beach Club. He is also resident and curator of the SOIRÉE MUTEK events at Moog club hosting and playing alongside artists such as Deadbeat, Nicolas Jaar, Dave Aju, Vincent Lemiuex, Bodycode or Andrés Bucci. Nerone´s fluid style, which is praised for his ability to evolve rather than follow the latest music fads, flirts with genres as varied as breaks, house, nu-disco, drum n´bass and even a certain experimentation, which may border on psychedelic. One can only imagine what new enterprises may spawn from the mind of Nerone. In over 12 years he has juggled many incarnations, and used his hard earned skills to burn every single town he played to the ground.
