A NEW AESTHETICS OF RESISTANCE (TEXT MATTERS. MATTERS OF TEXT 2026) “How are we meant to keep writing, inventing, imagining anything at all, when something monstrous is taking shape all around us…” — wrote Peter Weiss, years after a fascism we believed had long been confined to history. Today, the question returns. Where does resistance begin—and how does it appear? In a new language, in images, in sound, in space? From 20:00, the evening opens with a participatory stage conversation featuring Antke Engel, Nora Haddada, and Dagmar Herzog—situated between literature, theory, and aesthetic activism. Afterwards, the space unfolds. At 22:00, Julie Kuhl performs a live set. From midnight, the night transitions into a club format—where text, body, and sound shift into new relation. With: Beste Hira, Rødhåd, Luzie, Frau Laura, Tiffany & Go, John Tonic, and Dawit Asfaha. Doors: 19:30 · Start: 20:00 A collaboration between Präposition, Frankfurter Buchmesse, and Tokonoma | Club Bizarre as part of the Week of Free Speech. Media partner: Berlin Review. Opening of TEXT MATTERS. MATTERS OF TEXT 2026—a festival exploring the materiality of language (Präposition x HfG Offenbach x Klingspor Museum).
