In this autumn João Barreto Trio’s prepares their debut European Tour. The tour starts in October with the release of their first album “Travessia” and includes some of the most renowed venues in Portugal, Spain, Bulgaria, Finland… João Barreto Trio brings a unique lyrical language with a fusion between classical music, European jazz and improvised music and has a strong connection to Portuguese folk identity in a organic song-like forms. The Trio takes major inspiration from Mário Laginha, Bernardo Sassetti, Esbjorn Svenson, Keith Jarrett, Brad Mehldau but always being true to our style. In this concert the programme will include mainly compositions by the pianist and band leader João Barreto in a dialogue with some arrangements of Portuguese folk songs in a constant dialogue between the three musicians An unforgettable concert for all ages and tastes.
