Miss Kittin (Carolina Hervé, 1973, Grenoble, France) is an artist dedicated to electronic music and DJing. At the age of 22, she began DJing in France, Moscow, and Chicago with Mike Dearborn. She soon met DJ Hell in Marseille, who wanted her to record for his record label International DJ Gigolo. She presented him with the EP Champagne, which she had recorded with The Hacker. Miss Kittin & The Hacker released First Album in 2001. Many tracks from this album, such as 1982 and Frank Sinatra, became anthems of the electroclash scene. Miss Kittin has become one of the most important figures in electroclash, having worked with Felix da Housecat, Chicks on Speed, and Golden Boy. In 2002, she released a techno compilation under her own name (Miss Kittin On The Road). Her solo debut, I Com, has elements of different electronic styles and is more experimental than her previous work. Her other collaborations include Sven Väth, Steve Bug, and Ellen Allien. In 2006, she released Miss Kittin Live at Sonar, recorded live during the Sónar festival in Barcelona, in which she plays her own tracks and some by Aphex Twin, Modeselektor, and Boom Bip. In 2006, she also released a double CD called Miss Kittin: Bugged Out.
