Bio

If you ever venture to South America and engulf yourself in the dance music scene, you are guaranteed to hear of the name Nicko Izzo. Nicko’s ambitious drive and strong mind for business have made him a leader in the growth of dance music in Latin America for quite some time and wearing many different hats along the way. As a producer, Nicko’s music has received support by some of the world’s leading DJ’s including, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, and Richie Hawtin. In particular, his 2010 remix of The Hacienda’s "Must Be Re-Built" was signed to the legendary Global Underground compilation. As a DJ, Nicko’s deep-rooted passion and understanding of the rhythms he bestows on the crowds allow for an innate ability to fuse together different styles harmoniously. Nicko does not just play music: “I try to bring the best of every style together,” explains Nicko, “and tell a story with many different sounds. It’s all about variety, and bringing everything together in harmony. I am happy when people dance and have fun, but I also want them to take home a special memory of the night.” For the past 4 years, Izzo has conquered South America, touring alongside such heavyweights as Nick Warren and Danny Howells. He has also paved his way into the Europe scene with his residency at La Terrrazza in Barcelona (one of Europe’s best clubs; where Izzo hold a residency since 2005). 2014 was particularly successful for the Argentinean artist - from working on several successful projects with Hernan Cattaneo to playing at festivals like Ikaria in Khrakov (Ukraine) and across South America for a tour that received strong positive praise and recognition; successfully leaving his imprint on major cities. As an agency head, Nicko runs the hugely renowned booking agency “Closure Artists”. They strategically book and assist in the growth of many talented artists including Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Sharam, Miss Nine, Dave Seaman, and many more. And as a promoter, the Argentinean artist successfully has been doing the programming at La Terrrazza for the past decade, including the 2014 line ups for their Off-Sonar events with Hernan Cattaneo’s label “Subbeat” and Nick Warren’s label “Hope Recording”. With his second decade in the scene drawing to a close, Nicko Izzo has no plans of slowing down. He is a man on a mission to bring his deep and passionate vibe for dance music to the rest of the world. In 2015, Izzo will continue to grow La Terrrazza’s flourishing business and prominence in the global music scene. He will also continue touring alongside Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. And the studio is also calling Izzo’s name, so keep an eye out for new releases in the upcoming year – possibly even a compilation album. You can expect big things for Summer 2015; including a European tour.
