This year Necroboy has set his sights on the plethora of parties surrounding the world-famous Sonar festival, where he\u2019ll be hosting two showcases with a roster of legendary artists such as: <b>Kaiserdisco<\/b> (Drumcode and Toolroom),<b> Alex Bau<\/b> (Cocoon and CLR), <b>Thomas Schumacher <\/b>(Get Physical and Suara), as well as other 5 Kindcrime renowned producers <b>Kardinal <\/b>(also Phobiq and Alleanza), <b>Wes Yvaez<\/b> (also Stick and Selected), <b>Element HK <\/b>or <b>Andy Roll<\/b>. They all come together under the label concept of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Neo-futurism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">neo-futurism<\/a>, the perfect balance between technology and nature.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"KINDCRIME #OFFWEEK2016 @CATWALK Barcelona - 19th June\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BgGZ_vYctao?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first of the two showcases is to be set within a warehouse, with the inspiration drawn from Italian poet Filippo Tommaso Marinetti. He is known as the founder of <b>Futurism<\/b>: the movement that celebrates technology and modernity. In Amabile\u2019s words, Futurism is Kindcrime\u2019s \u201cphilosophical root\u201d. \u201c[The show] is an ode to industrialization: a dark, analogical and industrial techno journey into the essence of electronic music.\u201d He promises experimentation &#8211; noting smoke, strobes and mechanical sounds as selling points to create a complete sensory experience within the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In vivid contrast, the second showcase is set outdoors on beachside rooftop. \u201cThe concept is hedonism, pleasure, dance and intelligently enjoying life,\u201d he explains. Aspirations for both showcases are set high, calling for guests to \u201cidentify with the city\u201d and highlighting Barcelona\u2019s landscapes urban and natural. \u00a0The imagery is specific; he dubs the shows \u201ctechnological exhibitions\u201d, and describes them with such clarity it&#8217;s almost as if the parties are happening in his head this very second.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-837 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/images.xceed.me\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/29122517\/13161822_859850814148021_304486335128593939_o.jpg\" alt=\"kindcrime off week flyer\" width=\"851\" height=\"315\" \/><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His spiel verges on hyperbolic when he muses over inspiring dance music events<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">of the past, events he recalls as aimed to \u201cimprove the quality of life\u201d and \u201cspread culture and awareness\u201d. But it\u2019s assuring to see aspiration in someone so invested in trying to pull some sort of weight back to a summer show. \u201cWhen I was younger I loved big illegal rave parties\u201d Amabile recalls, \u201cI travelled Italy and Europe [which] was a great time of my life.\u201d The reflection is dramatically less detailed than his predictions for June, a clear indicator of how the tribe techno, breaks and drum and bass of the past inspired a more sharpened appreciation for parties. \u201cI had a lot of fun in the dance floor without being so picky about the quality of the sound system or the DJs&#8230; it was just about having fun, meeting new people and enjoying the party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Amabile\u2019s sonic moodboard for the label is as focused and as his imagination.\u2028 \u201cThe first thing I really digged in electronic music was the scratching and biting sound of a bassline,\u201d the producer notes -\u2013\u2013 before citing trip-hop, neurofunk and the classic sound of a Moog synthesizer as the genres that make up Kindcrime\u2019s roster. \u201cI was always interested in these kind of sounds and in experimentation with sound design. That\u2019s why we are playing both tech breaks and techno, to cover a wider musical spectrum\u201d. Alessandro\u2019s term is \u201celectronic music evolution\u201d. You can trace these sounds to \u2018Siege\u2019 and \u2018Humanity 1.0\u2019, his two singles that saw release this year. Both stretching beyond the 7-minute mark, the tunes keep a frantic pace. At times Necroboy strays precariously far from the dancefloor, pushing listeners out of their comfort zone before doing some party favours and inserting a 4\/4 kick back into the swivel-eyed mix.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"KDC189: NECROBOY - SIEGE \/ SIEGE ([ WEX 10 ] REMIX) by Alessandro Nero | Kindcrime Recordings\" width=\"1200\" height=\"450\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?visual=true&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Fplaylists%2F216897636&#038;show_artwork=true&#038;maxwidth=1200&#038;maxheight=1000&#038;dnt=1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Breaking down what you won\u2019t hear, Necroboy\u2019s eager to talk how the label is represented visually. \u201cDesign and visual aspects are as important as the music, at least. Not just for obvious marketing reasons. Because they can represent a concept, express something concrete.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWith the label we are working on two different artwork series\u2019 that follow the same duality of our OFF Week events.\u201d Black and white is the colour scheme of the first, with urban and industrial imagery courtesy of label photographer Katerina Pulido, \u201cGloomy aesthetics.\u201d The colour pallette of the second is warmer, mainly green and yellow with Necroboy detailing \u201ca sustainable equilibrium between green zones\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despite being based in Barcelona since 2010, Alessandro and his team have to strive hard to get the picture right. \u201cFor us, doing parties right here is always a big challenge\u201d, he mentions, as even after the success of their debut show last year in Under Club, the mission is no walk in the park. \u201cIt\u2019s a strong reason to improve and work hard to gain local respect and create connections with the crews that form a big and interesting scene.\u201d So it follows a logical path that his three upcoming summer shows are all in the Catalan capital and also why he\u2019s chosen Sonar as the week to preview the hard background work of his dedicated team.. \u201cPlaying elsewhere is great. I love tripping to other cities to show my music, but Barcelona is Barcelona, and the week of Sonar is absolutely unmissable and mad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-840 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/xceed.me\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Screen-Shot-2016-05-23-at-1.16.47-PM-1024x986.png\" alt=\"necroboy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"986\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When it comes to what drove him and his label to global exposure, the producer initially struggles to find an answer. With his creative control enveloping so much of Kindcrime\u2019s movement and message, a list of influences would spread A3. \u00a0\u201cI think the main thing that inspires me is developing my own concept. In taking inspiration from different stuff, my vision of music always moves me to something new, exciting, somehow true and personal.\u201d An intimate link between the music and the crowds at the shows is what Amable considers worth searching for. He tells me that only with that feedback is where he can shine a light inwards. \u201cThis process itself is inspirational too\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But the future of Kindcrime Records isn\u2019t locked in summertime reverie. The de facto head explains that the main goal is keeping the focus on the talent in play, with a \u201cmain goal to become a label with a very solid artist roster, especially in the techno scene\u201d. He is constantly reviewing music that is industrial, dubby and dark to visualise the perfect team. \u201cFinding this balance is also the point of Futurism, the perfect soundtrack for tomorrow&#8217;s globalised world.\u201d Amabile\u2019s grand prospects of hotel pool parties, DJ set live streams and raves in underground secret locations sound as poetic as the movement they were inspired by. Nonetheless, his main promise is in the quality of music itself.
