\u201cWe started off as a hidden gem but\u2026 I think it\u2019s fair to say we\u2019re not \u2018hidden\u2019 anymore \u2014 we sold out in just three days!\u201d

That\u2019s how Romina Gerbec<\/strong>, co-founder and co-director of Butik<\/strong><\/a> Festival Slovenia<\/a>,<\/strong> sums it up \u2014 with honesty and a big smile. \u201cThe name really couldn\u2019t be more accurate,\u201d she says. \u201cWe\u2019re simply that: a boutique <\/em>festival.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the truth is, Butik Festival feels like more than that. Born in 2019 \u2014 and surviving the pandemic wave like the rest \u2014 it\u2019s quickly become one of the most beloved small festivals in Central Europe. All while staying true to its roots: \u201cSince day one, we wanted at least 30% of the line-up to feature Slovenian artists, and when we include acts from neighbouring regions, that figure hits 50%.<\/strong>\u201d And once again, they\u2019ve nailed it.
That means, for their 3,000 attendees (they\u2019re not planning to grow beyond that), about 40% are international \u2014 spending five days<\/strong> (Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 July) discovering over 30 artists they\u2019ve probably never heard of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Butik 2025 Lineup Highlights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And the rest of the line-up? 2025 welcomes big debuts from names you might know \u2014 like Barcelona\u2019s eternal crate-digger John Talabot<\/strong>, the spiritual and dreamy house vibes of Fafi Abdel Nour<\/strong>, genre-bending selector Josey Rebelle<\/strong>, the bold and magnetic Paquita Gordon<\/strong>, the smooth grooves of Vlada<\/strong>, the rock-solid Pariah<\/strong>, and many more like Christian AB<\/strong>, Sugar Free<\/strong>, Carlos Valdes<\/strong>, and DJ MARIA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, there are also some other artists \u201cwho just must <\/em>come back.\u201d So, the festival will enjoy again avant-garde dancefloor stars like Ryan Elliott<\/strong>, Eris Drew<\/strong>, Verraco<\/strong>, Sedef Adasi<\/strong>, and Jane Fitz<\/strong> \u2014 all crowd favourites who need no introduction. rock-solid Pariah<\/strong>, and many more like Christian AB<\/strong>, Sugar Free<\/strong>, Carlos Valdes<\/strong>, and DJ MARIA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nature is the Real Headliner<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And let\u2019s not forget the real headliner: nature<\/strong>. Ask anyone who\u2019s been, and they\u2019ll tell you the setting \u2014 the magical little town of Tolmin<\/strong> \u2014 steals the show every time. The team behind Butik are all locals, and they\u2019ve chosen to keep the festival rooted in this lush corner of western Slovenia. Nestled between the So\u010da and Tolminka rivers, surrounded by mountains, trees and meadows, it\u2019s like something out of a dream. The nearest international airport is in Trieste<\/strong>, about 80 km away and just across the Italian border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Quite the opposite: \u201cWe want to highlight and celebrate the natural surroundings.\u201d And they do it with deep respect for the land \u2014 reusable cup deposit systems, low-volume policies during night hours, pocket ashtrays available on site<\/strong>\u2026 everything is designed so that, come Monday morning, the only trace Butik Festival leaves behind is \u201ca positive economic impact that helps improve the quality of life for the local community.\u201d<\/span>
