Imagine raving next to a 17th-century castle<\/strong>\u2014surrounded by nature, art, and selected electronic music. That\u2019s the vision behind SUPERAURORA Festival 2025<\/a><\/strong>, returning to Castello di Chigi<\/strong> in Rome<\/strong> from June 20-22<\/strong>.

In our exclusive interview with founders Luca Carinci<\/a><\/strong> and Andrea Antonelli<\/a><\/strong>, they share how the festival has evolved from a bold idea to an immersive journey where music<\/strong>, art<\/strong>, and history<\/strong> collide. With Carl Cox<\/a><\/strong>, Meduza<\/a><\/strong>, and Mace<\/a><\/strong> among the 35+ artists, this year promises to take the experience even further, all set against one of Italy\u2019s most stunning backdrops!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you tell us about the journey that led to the creation of SUPERAURORA? What\u2019s the story behind the name?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We wanted a name that felt international, fresh, and dynamic. \u201cSUPER\u201d is a Latin word widely used in English as well, symbolizing strength and greatness. \u201cAURORA\u201d evokes the beauty of the Northern Lights, while also capturing the magic of the universe. It\u2019s a word found in many languages around the world, creating a universal connection. With SUPERAURORA<\/em>, we aimed to create a galaxy where every year, participants embark on a new journey to explore different worlds\u2014each one made of unique elements, colors, and natural wonders.

Many festivals crash after year one\u2014what did you do right that made SUPERAURORA\u2019s<\/em> second edition possible? What\u2019s the most unexpected lesson from year one that completely changed how you approached this edition?
<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first year was incredibly challenging, and yes, there were moments when we thought about giving up. We faced many obstacles, particularly the ones unique to the Italian market in our industry. However, our desire to bring an experience similar to world-renowned festivals like Coachella, Glastonbury, and Sziget to Italy kept us pushing forward. Now, with the second edition underway, we\u2019re already seeing the fruits of our labor and, fortunately, we\u2019re receiving a lot of positive feedback.

\u201c’SUPER’ symbolizes strength, while ‘AURORA’ evokes the beauty of the Northern Lights and the magic of the universe. With more festivals emphasizing “experiences” beyond music, how do you plan to keep SUPERAURORA fresh in this sense? Will it always be a music-first event, or do you see it becoming something bigger?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We consider music to be an art form, and yes, it will always remain the star of our festival. However, we are committed to continuously expanding the experience beyond music. Year after year, we plan to give more space to other forms of art. For this second edition, we\u2019re already planning workshops, video mapping, performances, and much more

What brought you to this 17th-century castle in the woods as your main location? What is the main difference of production in the castle, and what are the biggest challenges? Any crazy stories you can share?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For SUPERAURORA, we didn\u2019t just want a venue to host a crowd\u2014we sought a place immersed in nature, rich in history (after all, we\u2019re in Rome), and with a unique beauty. That\u2019s why we chose Chigi Castle as our festival location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, one of the biggest challenges is living up to the incredible history the castle holds. During the Nazi retreat, the castle was meant to be destroyed, but the last soldier on site, captivated by its beauty, disobeyed orders and spared it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking towards the future, what are your aspirations for SUPERAURORA? If you had an unlimited budget, what\u2019s the one crazy thing you\u2019d add to SUPERAURORA 2025?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. Yes, we\u2019ll try to get Daft Punk to reunite. Seems like the obvious choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
