There was an absolutely incredible video of someone playing at <a href=\"https:\/\/bassiani.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bassiani<\/a>, we&#8217;re not sure exactly who it was, but it was much harder and faster than what we usually play. However, that video of the atmosphere made us both fall in love with the club straight away. Within 20 minutes we started making something that we imagined hearing in that video, club and environment.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/xceed.me\/en\/artist\/soko-sev?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=artist&amp;utm_campaign=200706-GEN-ENG-BLOG-SOKO%20%26%20SEV%20PREMIERE\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Soko &amp; Sev<\/a> is a Serbian-Romanian techno duo. They are Marko and Antonio and their obsession for the most techno sounds of the electronic music led them to what is one of the hottest spots of the genre worldwide at the moment: Bassiani. As they themselves recognize, Bassiani&#8217;s sound is much harder and faster than theirs, but this did not stop Soko &amp; Sev from trying to create an anthem that would pay tribute to the famous club in Tbilisi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-20811\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"920\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/images.xceed.me\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/29121116\/Xceed-Artist-Soko-Sev.png\" alt=\"Xceed-Artist-Soko &amp; Sev\" class=\"wp-image-20811\"\/><figcaption>Image: \u00a9 Soko &amp; Sev&#8217;s Press Kit<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBassiani\u201d is part of the EP of the same name that will be released next Monday, July 13, by the label <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beatport.com\/label\/playoff\/54165\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Playoff<\/a>. \u201cBassiani\u201d is followed by \u201cWarrior\u201d and \u201cNo Horizon\u201d. It is a 100% techno-oriented release, with bass lines designed for large spaces, mainly macroclubs and festivals. A big-room sound with low, heavy and hypnotic synth lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>When producing, we really work a lot in the box and tend to focus more on software rather than hardware. We tend to use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ableton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ableton<\/a> in the initial stages, when building the foundations of the track and coming up with ideas for percussion, etc. We then switch over to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/es\/logic-pro\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Logic<\/a> to record synths and the more melodic elements of the track, and especially when recording audio from hardware, such as our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sequential.com\/product\/prophetrev2\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prophet Rev2<\/a>, which we love. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-soundcloud wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-soundcloud wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Xceed Premiere 017: Soko &amp; Sev \u2013 Bassiani by Xceed\" width=\"1200\" height=\"400\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?visual=true&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F853164652&#038;show_artwork=true&#038;maxwidth=1200&#038;maxheight=1000&#038;dnt=1\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The production rhythm of Soko &amp; Sev is one of those that shows that the quarantine has not come at all badly depending on which musicians. After the release of the EP Bassiani on Playoff, a second EP will arrive, called Salvation, which will be published by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beatport.com\/label\/reload-records\/35531\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reload Records<\/a>. That will happen on July 29th. Who knows if, by that time, \u201cBassiani\u201d will be already playing in Tbilisi (as long as covid-19 allows it, of course&#8230;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Musically speaking, we&#8217;ve made this track and EP slightly slower than what we would usually produce, but \u201cBassiani\u201d really felt right at that tempo in order to give it that anthem feel, with such a dominant lead synth playing throughout.
