There had already been some rumors that the member of Massive Attack, Robert Del Naja, was in fact also the street artist Banksy. A few days ago, during an interview Goldie confirmed the news with an amazing gaffe.

During September 2016, the mystery seemed already solved. The journalist Craig Williams had followed Robert’s Del Naja’s moves and found out some strange coincidences with the various works made by Banksy in a town where Massive Attack concerts took place, each one with just a few days of intervals. In addition, the musician had also an history as street artist and often claimed to be friend of Banksy. According to BBC, during the weekly Scroobius Pip podcast for Distraction Pieces, Goldie affirmed with a very relaxed tone: “But give me a bubble letter and put it on a T-Shirt and write Banksy on it and we’re sorted.. We can sell it now. [..] No disrespect to Rob, I think he is a brilliant artist. I think he has flipped the world of art over.

Already last September, The Daily Mail revealed that Del Naja was the head of a group of artists who performed their works under the name of Banksy. Now it seems that the truth has finally been leaked! Goldie, feeling embarrassed, quickly changed the theme of the discussion. But after all though, do we really need to know who Banksy is? I don’t think so…We just need his art!
