At the tail end of July, Poble Espanyol, a village in Barcelona will play host to an animated lineup of DJs and producers for first ever Summer Daze. The party series heads to Barcelona for a day bustling with EDM drops and switching faces.

The headlines taking the stage is Diplo-associate Marshmello. The inscrutably popular EDM soundsmith flipped Jack Ü and Duke Dumont, earning him recognition around the world. His live sets are vibrant to put it subtly, with setups colorful like stained glass windows or a cutscene from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas; expect pulsating numbers like “Alone” to be the soundtrack. Hidden behind a marshmallow mask, his real identity is unknown, and has drawn speculation from every angle, with full investigations breaking down who he could possibly be. What isn’t a mystery, however, is his image as bombastic party starter.

Alongside him as a supporting act is Joris Delacroix, who has played around the world with some of the best known electonic artists. Serving up an edgier, alternative sound, his mixtapes and production EPs are both highlights in the Soundcloud timeline. Recap his work at Rex Club or his Air France EP for his finest work. The third supporter is Norwegian tropical house producer Matoma. World famous thanks to his lively Biggie remix “Whole Thing Back”, and climbing international status collaborating with Sean Paul, Popcaan and Jennifer Lopez, he also happened to write the official song for the Angry Birds movie. Hot off the release of Always Updating, his studio debut, we’re sure he’ll have a tough set to test audiences.

Thomas Jack comes fourth. The Miami-based beatmaker is trusted to compile mixes for Pete Tong and Kygo, also playlisting Topsify’s Tropical House mix. He stands on his own two feet though. His unexpected remixes of Israel Kamakawiwo’ole and Of Monsters and Men as well as solo cuts like “Symphony” should all be pleasant sounds for the party’s summer setting. With additional support from Bonxinbox & Lionsize, Maxime Honoré and Wrexter, Summer Daze is essential to catch some of the world’s most technicolour record stirrers wreaking havoc.
